Closing segment 07/19/16

Life comes with no promises and nor does it come with any guarantees. No matter how much in control we think we are, the location of our birth, who our parents are, and what physical and mental attributes we possess all seem to be matters of chance and little more. Every individual on the planet must confront life’s demands one day at a time. You could be extremely happy one moment and then painful heartache the next.

Some of our lives we see generous gains, than some of us endure heavy loss. Have you ever noticed that some lives may seem to be tremendously blessed with love and kindness, while others may seem unduly visited by deep bitterness and hatred.

No matter what life deals you, through it all,  with both the ups and the downs, God is with you and watches over each person, waiting patiently for that special moment when a lonely, sinful person reaches out for the beautiful fellowship of his Creator.

No matter who you are, you are not truly complete until you have felt the wonderful release of sin through repentance, had the name of Jesus Christ applied to his heart through water baptism in Jesus’ name, and received the glorious gift of the Holy Ghost. Paul explained this completeness of life in his epistle to the church at Colosse: “And ye are complete in him” (Colossians 2:10).

When we are filled with the Holy Ghost, it is the treasure of God’s Spirit which allows His people to survive every difficulty, every trial, and every temptation. We we truly have the Holy Ghost, our lives become victorious testimonies to God’s power when His Spirit enables us to triumph in difficult situations and circumstances. The Holy Ghost which I speak of helps the Christian to maintain his spiritual balance regardless of difficulties.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed; but not in despair” (II Corinthians 4:8).

No matter a persons lot in life, financial set or financial broke, none of us is exempt from the troubles and woes of life? No one. Every single one of us has times of hurts, offenses, and resentments. But if we are truly a child of God, we know that God gives us sufficient strength and grace to face these times. We may experiences troubles, but we can never succumb to doubt about God’s love and His very presence. We can not let the civil unrest that is happening all over the world distract us from our walk with God. We all the conflicts that is happening on the streets of America, and the world we must resist mental conflicts that attempt to torment, grieve, or injure our spiritual relationship with God. Paul wrote that we are not distressed, he assured us the Holy Ghost is more than an adequate help to ward off any distress or injury that may affect our spirit because of life’s troubles. My friends, this is the TRUE AND AWESOME power of the great treasure of God’s Spirit, which lives inside of us if we are filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Let me make sure that you all understand the point that I am trying to make. Any person who has been filled with the Holy Ghost for years has experienced times when they found it difficult to understand why the road of life led through pain, suffering, and disappointment. At one time or the other we have all find it hard to grasp the reason God has allowed us to endure a fiery trial. But then, ooooh Church, when we humble ourselves and turn to God, it’s then that we discover that God’s presence in our heart will not allow us to sink in despair. We may be confused, We may be perplexed about these problems, but the Holy Ghost will provide God’s direction and insight and lead us faithfully through every valley experience.

To despair is to be frustrated, and it is not God’s will for His saints to be in such a state. A Christian may sometimes ask, “Why?” but a true Christian never gives up or loses his blessed hope in Christ Jesus.

Look at the Word of God, the majority of Paul’s converts and the churches he shepherded lived under the constant threat of imprisonment and death. To trust in God’s protection day by day was not just a phrase in a testimony; to them it was a way of life. Today in North America, physical persecution for our belief is the exception rather than the rule. Personal insults or ridiculing words may be spoken, but rarely does persecution take the form of physical abuse or injury.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

I ask that we all say a prayer for our Country, it’s leaders, and for those who protect us. Our men in blue, those underpaid warriors who are on the front lines in the chaos that is spreading across the nation, may God Bless them and protect them. Pray for our Military and all of our first responders. May the love of God sweep across this once blessed nation and the world.
